Ladder access platforms provide a fixed, safe way for site personnel to get in and out of a supported excavation. The platform clamps securely onto the shoring system, creating a guarded entryway with a secured ladder or temporary stairway into the trench.

A self-closing gate at the top ensures the excavation edge remains guarded while your team comes and goes, preventing accidental falls. Because the ladder secures directly to the platform rather than simply leaning against the box panel, it provides the firm, slip-resistant base required by HSE guidance for working at height in excavations. The units are lightweight, quick to install, and easily stored on site.

Standard vs. Extended Platforms

Depending on the scale of your temporary works, we offer two primary configurations:

Standard Platform: The conventional footprint for standard ladder access, clamping directly onto the panel.
Extended Access Platform: Extends the platform by 500mm to accommodate larger excavations and heavy hydraulic bracing systems (such as Atlas). Crucially, the extended platform offers dual functionality, providing enough clearance to safely land both ladders and temporary site stairs.

Rescue and Retrieval

For confined space compliance and emergency preparedness, a Davit Arm Socket can be added to the platform structure. This allows you to mount a davit safety system directly at the access point for rapid lowering and retrieval.
