QuickLock bursting rods are easy-to-load ladder rods for the Grundoburst 400G and 800G Pipe Bursters. Because they latch together as opposed to screw together, Quicklock bursting rods can be loaded and unloaded far more quickly. There is no thread to strip or clog with grit.

Why the Latch Coupling Matters

A 100m run is over 130 rods. With a screw-together system the operator winds every rod on as the string goes in, then winds every rod off again as it comes back, which is more than 260 threaded joints that have to be screwed and unscrewed by hand on a single pull, in a pit, usually in the wet. None of that is needed with a latch coupling.

Hiring QuickLock Rods

A Grundoburst hire comes with 100m of rods as standard. We hire additional rods for longer runs, and we can hire rods on their own where you already have a rig. Tell us which machine you are running and the length of the pipe, and we can send the correct rods for your job.

What are QuickLock bursting rods?
QuickLock bursting rods are the rods that transmit pulling force through a pipeline during static pipe bursting. They are ladder rods, meaning each rod is a flat link that latches to the next rather than a round stem that screws into it. The operator can load and unload the string without needing to screw or wind each rod on and off.
Which machines do QuickLock rods fit?
QuickLock rods fit the Grundoburst 400G and 800G. The two rigs take different diameters, 54mm on the 400G and 75mm on the 800G.
Can I hire bursting rods on their own?
You can hire bursting rods on their own if you already have a Grundoburst rig, and you can add rods to an existing hire for a longer run. Every Grundoburst hire includes 100m of rods as standard. Tell us the machine and the pull length and we will confirm what you need.
