3-leg Chain Slings
Slings with three legs of Grade 8 chain. The natural fit for round and three-point loads
- Grade 8 alloy chain rated to EN 818-4
- Adjustable legs with shortening hooks
- Test certificate with every hire
- Nationwide delivery
A 3-leg chain sling hangs three legs of Grade 8 alloy chain from a single master link, with a hook on each. The three legs sit naturally around a round load, so this is a great sling to use for manhole rings, tanks, drums and fabrications with three lifting points.
Spacing three connection points evenly around a circular load holds it steadier than a 2-leg sling can manage. Each leg also has a shortening hook, so you can pull links out of any leg to help keep an uneven load level.

3-leg Chain Sling Working Load Limits
Grade 8 chain rated to EN 818-4. The angles quoted below are measured between each leg and vertical.
| Chain diameter | WLL at 0–45° | WLL at 45–60° |
|---|---|---|
| 8mm | 4.25t | 3.0t |
| 10mm | 6.7t | 4.75t |
| 13mm | 11.2t | 8.0t |
Our shelf stock is 8mm in effective working lengths of 1.5m to 3m; other sizes can be sourced on request. Never use a sling with legs beyond 60° from vertical. The Working Load Limit holds from -40°C to +200°C.
The figures above are the standard ratings for Grade 8 chain. The Working Load Limit that governs any lift is the one stamped on the sling's ID tag and shown on its test certificate; always work to that.
